ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Inspector General of Police Captain (retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry has cancelled contracts awarded to former police officers and employees serving in different positions.
According to sources, the decision affects 29 former policemen and other employees working on contractual appointments. A notification has been issued following the termination of their contracts.
The action also covers several senior positions within the Islamabad Police. Four former superintendents of police and three former deputy superintendents of police were among those whose contracts were cancelled.
The contracts of officials working in the Information Technology Department have also been withdrawn. These include personnel serving as director and software engineering staff.
In addition, the contract of the police department’s law officer has been terminated under the latest decision.
The move comes as the Islamabad Police administration reviews contractual appointments and staffing arrangements across various departments. The affected former officers and employees had continued working with the police department after their regular service ended under contractual arrangements.
The cancellation order brings their contractual assignments to an end with immediate effect, according to sources.
The latest decision is part of administrative measures being taken under the leadership of IGP Sohail Chaudhry to reorganise staffing and management within the Islamabad Police.
