Iranian President and Pakistan’s Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi discussed the regional conflict. Both discusses ways and options to deescalate conflict and end clashes and reopen the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al Mandab.
Masoud Pezeshkian has praised Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen regional peace while calling for deeper cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad.
Pezeshkian made the remarks during a meeting with Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Tehran on Monday, Iranian media reported.
The Iranian president said US actions and pressure had encouraged stronger ties and greater interaction among Muslim countries.
He cited increasing diplomatic engagement between Iran and Pakistan as an example of closer cooperation among regional nations.
Pezeshkian expressed satisfaction with the growing trajectory of Tehran-Islamabad relations and called for expanded cooperation in several fields.
He highlighted trade, energy, tourism, investment, culture and science as key areas for stronger bilateral engagement.
The Iranian president also stressed the importance of joint investments and increased communication between different sectors in both countries.
He said Iran and Pakistan possessed significant human resources and natural resources that could support greater regional cooperation.
Meanwhile, Naqvi said relations between Pakistan and Iran had reached an unprecedented level and reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to expanding bilateral ties.
He said both countries would continue developing cooperation in trade, economic affairs, tourism, politics, culture and science.
Earlier, Naqvi held talks with Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni on cooperation between the two interior ministries.
Momeni thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their efforts to promote regional peace and stability.
He also described Pakistan’s recent peace efforts as beneficial for the region.
The meetings came as Pakistan continued diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions between Iran and the United States.
Islamabad has maintained contacts with both sides as part of efforts to support dialogue and promote regional stability.
