Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi described Egypt as a key regional partner and urged greater vigilance against alleged Israeli false-flag operations. He said regional countries must work together to protect stability and strengthen cooperation.
In a post on X, Araghchi called Egypt an important friend of the Islamic Republic. He also stressed that Egypt’s security remains important to Iran and warned against what he described as Israeli efforts to undermine regional peace.
Furthermore, Araghchi said the shared threat requires unity among Muslim nations. He argued that stronger regional solidarity could counter attempts to create instability across the Middle East.
Iran claims strikes on US military facilities
Meanwhile, Iran’s military announced that it launched drone strikes targeting US military facilities at Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base in Kuwait. The statement said the operation targeted fighter aircraft shelters, satellite communication systems, and equipment storage facilities.
However, the US Central Command had not issued an immediate response to the Iranian claims. Therefore, the reported strikes could not be independently verified.
Iran’s military said the attack responded to recent US operations against Iran. It also accused US forces of striking a residential home on Qeshm Island.
Tensions rise over Strait of Hormuz
Local media reported that three members of the same family died during the reported US strike on Qeshm Island. The island lies along the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global energy shipping route.
The Strait of Hormuz normally handles about 20 percent of global oil shipments. Since fighting began on February 28, Iran has effectively closed the strategic waterway, while the United States has continued strikes on Iran’s southern coastal provinces.
