Iranโs Foreign Ministry says indirect talks between Iran and the United States are continuing through Pakistan acting as a mediator, as both sides exchange comments on Tehranโs latest proposal.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said Tehran and Washington had each conveyed their responses regarding the recent Iranian proposal through diplomatic channels facilitated by Pakistan.
Separately, Baghaei confirmed that Iranian and Omani technical teams recently met in Oman to discuss a mechanism for ensuring safe transit through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.
Speaking during a press conference, Baghaei said the discussions focused on creating a framework under international law to regulate and secure maritime passage in the waterway.
He added that Iran remains in contact with Oman and other concerned parties, and that expert-level discussions with Omani counterparts are expected to continue next week.
