Iran and Oman have largely agreed on a general framework governing the Strait of Hormuz. However, senior leadership must approve the proposal before it becomes official.
Iranian lawmaker Hassan Ghashghavi shared the update during a televised interview. He serves as spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee.
According to Ghashghavi, negotiations between Tehran and Muscat are nearing completion. Moreover, both sides have made significant progress toward finalising the proposed framework.
Talks Near Final Stage
Ghashghavi said the general framework has been largely agreed upon by both countries. Nevertheless, he stressed that higher authorities must make the final decision.
He expressed optimism about the ongoing negotiations and suggested discussions had entered their concluding phase. Meanwhile, officials have not announced a timeline for formal approval.
