UK’s Sara Sharif murder case takes a new twist with arrest of her uncle in Jhelum

ISLAMABAD: Jhelum Police and FIA have apprehended an uncle of Sara Sharif due to suspicions that he knows the whereabouts of three suspects linked to her murder case.

These suspects include her father, stepmother, and another uncle, all of whom are wanted in connection to her murder.

The detained individual, Imran, is undergoing questioning by both the police in Jhelum and officers from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

Sara Sharif was a 10-year-old British national. Her lifeless body was discovered at her family residence in Woking, Surrey on August 10.

The police authorities discovered her body a day after her father, Urfan Sharif, escaped to Pakistan along with his partner Benish Batool, brother Faisal Malik, and Faisal Malik’s five children.

Moreover, the investigators have launched an international manhunt to locate the three fugitives. Detectives in Pakistan are interrogating family members suspected of harboring the trio.

Among those taken into custody is Imran, brother of Sharif. Police believe that Imran possesses information about the whereabouts of the fugitive family.

Meanwhile, FIA and Punjab police are coordinating with the UK authorities to arrest key suspects of Sara Sharif murder case.
