KARACHI: Two Pakistani nationals were arrested at Karachi’s airport while attempting to travel to Saudi Arabia using forged documents.
According to immigration officials, the suspects identified as Shehbaz and Umar were travelling on work visas issued for driver positions. However, during routine checks, authorities discovered that the driving licenses they presented were counterfeit.
The licences were allegedly issued from the Clifton licensing branch, but investigations revealed that neither individual had appeared in person to complete the official licensing process. Authorities stated the fake documents were obtained through an agent, with each licence reportedly costing between Rs600,000 and Rs750,000.
Although their visas carried legitimate protector stamps, the use of forged licences led to their immediate arrest. Both men have been handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle for further investigation.
FIA Foils Separate Attempt by Begging Ring Disguised as Umrah Pilgrims
In a separate incident, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested a 10-member group — including seven women — who were attempting to travel to Saudi Arabia under the guise of performing Umrah.
FIA officials said the individuals were intercepted at Karachi Airport after failing to answer basic questions about Umrah rituals, raising suspicions about their true intentions.
Further inquiries revealed the group had no hotel bookings or sufficient financial resources to support their stay, confirming that their actual plan was to engage in begging activities in Saudi Arabia.
The group was also transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell for further legal action.
