Twenty-Five Middle Eastern and North African Artists Unite for a Powerful Song on Palestine

Twenty-five artists from the Middle East and North Africa have collaborated to produce a song dedicated to Palestine, with the proceeds going to the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund.

The song, titled ‘Rajieen,’ spans over eight minutes and is described as an anthem that transcends boundaries, symbolizing resilience and resistance. It serves as a poignant tribute to the courage of the Palestinian people and also as a call to action for Arab leaders to support them.

Song

A haunting refrain in the song repeats, “Should I lose my voice, yours will remain.”

The roster of artists involved in the song includes Saif Safadi, Dana Salah, Ghalia Chaker, Afroto, Nordo, Saif Shroof, Arass, Issam Alnajjar, Balti, Amir Eid, Weesam Qutub, Dina Wideidi, Saif Bataineh, Omar Rammal, AlYung & Randar, Vortex, Small X, ALA, Fuad Gritli, Donia Wael, Zeyne, Marwan Moussa, Marwan Pablo, and Dafencii.

The music video interlaces actual footage from Palestine under Israeli occupation with shots of the artists in a dimly lit studio, all dressed in black. The song emphasizes the struggles of the Palestinian people, who are unable to voice their grievances and lead normal lives.

A powerful line from the song, “We do not just stand in solidarity with the cause; we are its custodians,” is prominently featured in the music video, accompanied by shots of the singers.

Another impactful refrain from the song goes:

“But the key to my home remains in my heart,

And I’m returning with my children in my arms

Even if the whole world stands against me

I am returning, O my country.”

At the conclusion of the music video, the artists pay tribute to the journalists and photojournalists in Palestine and Gaza, including Wael Al Dahdouh, Wissam Nassar, Motaz Azaiza, Ali Jadallah, Plestia Alaqad, Bissan Wizard, Mohammed Faye, Zaher Saleh, Mohammed Al Aloul, Ayman Abu Ramooz, Sanad Latifa, Thaer Mounir, Zaher Saleh Hisham Abu Shaqra, Ahmad Hijazi, and Hisham Abu Shaqra.
