Trump threatens to take action against those who cheated in the 2020 presidential election

Former US President Donald Trump issued a stern warning to those he accused of “cheating” in the 2020 presidential election, vowing to take action if he secured victory in the 2024 race for the White House.

Trump, who Joe Biden defeated in the 2020 election, continues to claim that the vote was fraudulent and rigged against him.

“The 2024 Election, where Votes have just started being cast, will be under the closest professional scrutiny,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. “WHEN I WIN, those people that CHEATED will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law, including long-term prison sentences, to ensure this Depravity of Justice does not happen again.”

‘Unscrupulous Behavior’

Trump also warned that the legal consequences of election fraud would extend beyond voters and election officials.

“Please beware that this legal exposure extends to Lawyers, Political Operators, Donors, Illegal Voters, and corrupt Election Officials,” he added. Those involved in unscrupulous behavior will be sought out, caught, and prosecuted at levels, unfortunately, never seen before in our country.”

The race between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris remains highly competitive, especially in the swing states pivotal to winning the upcoming election.

They are set to face off next week in the only scheduled debate between the Democratic and Republican candidates.
