Support Grows for Delhi Chalo March as Various Religious Groups Join Farmers’ Rights Movement

On the sixth day of the Delhi Chalo march, a diverse array of individuals from various religious backgrounds joined the collective support for the rights of Indian farmers.

Adding to the chorus of solidarity, the Church of South India in Kerala has stepped forward in support of the Delhi Chalo march.

Pastor Malayil Sabu Koshy from the church underlines that endorsing the protest is a clear demonstration of their unwavering commitment to justice and equality.

“We must acknowledge and secure the rights of farmers for the sustainable development of our country’s agricultural sector,” emphasizes Pastor Malayil Sabu Koshy.

He further urges the government to either withdraw from the World Trade Organization agreements or reconsider the conditions imposed on farmers.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge strongly criticizes the Modi government, labeling it as the worst for Indian farmers.

“The continuous false claims of the Modi government are subjecting the farmers, who are the backbone of our country’s sustenance, to a severe test,” remarks the Congress leader.

In Haryana, mobile and internet services have been suspended until February 19, adding another layer of complexity to the situation.

Security personnel, acting on behalf of the Modi administration, halted the Delhi Chalo march, originally scheduled for Tuesday, at the borders of Shambhu and Khanouri.

Despite the impediments, an announcement is made to persist with the march until the acceptance of farmers’ demands, underscoring the resilience and determination of the protesting individuals.
