Major Airlines Suspend Flights to Tel Aviv Airport Amid Security Concerns

Airlines Suspend Flights

In response to the Hamas surprise attack on Israel, several international airlines have suspended their flight services to Tel Aviv, citing safety concerns and the need for improved conditions before resuming operations.

On Sunday, major US carriers, including United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and American Airlines, along with Air France, announced the suspension of their direct flights to Tel Aviv. Amma, an Israeli airline, temporarily halted its services to the United States as well, emphasizing that they would resume operations once conditions improved.

Delta Air Lines explained that they had canceled flights for the upcoming week while closely monitoring the situation to make necessary schedule adjustments.

Meanwhile, Hainan Airlines, the sole Chinese carrier with flights between China and Israel, canceled its Tel Aviv-Shanghai routes on Monday due to the security situation in Israel. The airline also operates flights connecting Beijing, Shenzhen, and Tel Aviv, and stated that they would adapt future flight plans based on the evolving situation.

Cathay Pacific, which canceled its Hong Kong-Tel Aviv flight on Tuesday, is planning to provide updates on the next scheduled flight for Thursday. Korean Air has also taken precautions, canceling its Monday flight between Incheon and Tel Aviv, and anticipates irregularities in future flight schedules.

These airlines have acted in response to the current security situation and are closely monitoring developments before resuming their flight services to Tel Aviv. Overall, Airlines suspend flights due to Hamas attack, awaiting improved safety conditions for resumption.
