President Tayyip Erdogan stated on Tuesday that Turkey will support Lebanon amid Israel’s ground incursion. He emphasized that Turkey will not abandon its Lebanese allies during these challenging times and will provide assistance with all available resources.
This announcement follows reports of Israeli forces conducting operations in southern Lebanon, where they have been uncovering Hezbollah tunnels and weapons caches. Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari mentioned that these operations aim to expose Hezbollah’s plans to attack Israel, similar to the October 7 assault by Hamas.
Hagari noted that the military’s operations would continue until displaced Israelis near the border can safely return home, emphasizing a focus on areas adjacent to the border rather than major cities in southern Lebanon. Additionally, the Israeli military announced the mobilization of four more reserve brigades to support operations against Hezbollah.
