Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah has declared that the recent attacks on communication devices in Lebanon and Syria represent a “declaration of war” by Israel, promising that Hezbollah will retaliate. In his first televised address since the attacks, which resulted in at least 37 fatalities and over 2,900 injuries, Nasrallah condemned the assaults as a significant threat to both security and humanity.
He characterized the simultaneous explosions as “unprecedented” and a direct attack on Lebanon’s sovereignty. Despite the devastation, he affirmed Hezbollah’s commitment to support the Palestinians in Gaza, regardless of the potential consequences.
Nasrallah criticized Israel for allegedly targeting civilian areas, including hospitals and markets, with the intent to cause maximum casualties. He emphasized that Hezbollah’s operational capacity remains intact and reassured supporters that their infrastructure has not been compromised.
As tensions escalate, Israeli officials have indicated intentions to conduct a larger military operation against Hezbollah, further raising concerns about the conflict intensifying.
