China remains steadfast in its stance that attempts to disrupt China-Pakistan collaboration are futile, reiterating its unwavering support for Pakistan’s socioeconomic advancement.
The declaration follows a tragic suicide bombing in the Besham area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, resulting in the loss of lives of five Chinese nationals and their Pakistani driver, all engaged in the Dasu dam project.
In response to the incident, the Chinese embassy in Pakistan urged a comprehensive investigation and the swift punishment of those responsible. China emphasized the imperative of ensuring the safety of its citizens in Pakistan and preventing the recurrence of such tragic events.
However, during a regular press briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian struck a note of continuity, underscoring the steadfastness of cooperation. Jian asserted, “China firmly supports Pakistan in its fight against terrorism and remains resolute in ensuring the safety of its nationals and projects abroad.” Jian reaffirmed the enduring partnership between China and Pakistan, emphasizing their shared commitment to combating terrorism and fostering socioeconomic development.
Jian emphasized, “Efforts to undermine China-Pakistan cooperation will not succeed. China will persist in supporting Pakistan’s socioeconomic advancement, strengthening bilateral ties, and enhancing the well-being of both nations.”
Grateful for the condemnation and sympathy expressed by other countries, Jian expressed gratitude for their solidarity.
Meanwhile, Pakistan convened a high-level security meeting, attended by the prime minister and the chief of army staff, promising to shield Chinese nationals and launching a joint investigation team to thoroughly probe the attack, demonstrating their commitment to ensuring the safety of all stakeholders involved.
