Azerbaijan-Pakistan Business Forum Sees $2.5 Million MoU for Digital Trade Advancement

In a significant step toward enhancing economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, Karabakh-Pakistan Trade House and global technology firm Beyond Technologies have signed a $2.5 million Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish an advanced digital trade platform. The agreement, finalized during the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Business Forum in Baku, aims to modernize trade operations by incorporating AI-driven fraud detection, digital Know Your Customer (KYC) verification, and future banking and payment system integrations.

The MoU was signed by Babək Hüseyn, CEO of Karabakh-Pakistan Trade House, and Agha Zain Haider, Chief Operating Officer of Beyond Technologies, in the presence of business leaders, government representatives, and industry stakeholders. This collaboration highlights the growing role of technology in international trade, particularly in developing regions such as South Asia and the Caucasus.

Beyond Technologies, a leading digital solutions provider for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), will spearhead the platform’s development. The initiative is expected to enhance security, transparency, and efficiency in cross-border trade, serving as a foundation for broader regional expansion beyond Azerbaijan and Pakistan into the Middle East and other markets.

Trade relations between the two nations have been steadily growing, with digital transformation playing a key role in accelerating progress. The Azerbaijan-Pakistan Business Forum, organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of Azerbaijan (KOBIA), brought together over 200 business executives, investors, and policymakers to explore investment opportunities, economic partnerships, and technological innovations in trade.

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, emphasized the importance of strengthening economic ties with Pakistan, particularly in technology, energy, and infrastructure.

“Azerbaijan and Pakistan share strong historical and economic bonds. We are committed to fostering trade partnerships that create new business opportunities and drive mutual economic growth,” Minister Jabbarov stated during the event.

Discussions also focused on investment prospects in the Karabakh region, which is emerging as a vital economic and trade hub, particularly in technology, agriculture, and logistics.

With digital transformation reshaping global trade, collaborations like this one between Beyond Technologies and Karabakh-Pakistan Trade House are expected to contribute significantly to economic progress and cross-border commerce. Experts believe integrating AI-driven fraud detection, digital KYC, and payment solutions will enhance trade efficiency, improve compliance, and mitigate risks associated with international transactions.

As Azerbaijan and Pakistan deepen their economic engagement, this digital trade initiative could serve as a model for other emerging markets, leveraging technology to build a secure, scalable, and efficient trading environment.

Following the MoU signing, both companies will begin developing and implementing the platform, with a formal launch expected soon.
