Why Was Imran Khan’s Sister Arrested?
Noreen Niazi has been detained in Lahore since September 2026.
Her detention followed police action involving members of Imran Khan’s family.
According to the report, Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan was taken into custody on September 20.
Subsequently, the Lahore deputy commissioner ordered the detention of Noreen Niazi and her sister Uzma Khan for 30 days.
The detention orders were issued under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order law, commonly known as 3-MPO.
Authorities Cited Public Safety Concerns
The deputy commissioner’s order followed recommendations from police officials.
Authorities claimed that the two sisters could pose risks to public safety and order.
Meanwhile, Noreen’s latest hospital transfer has brought renewed attention to her detention.
Her medical condition remains unconfirmed as doctors continue their initial assessment.
