ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan held more than 80 meetings with his wife Bushra in Adiala Jail. His eyesight has also improved. Adiala Jail has submitted a report to the Supreme Court detailing Imran Khanโs health and family meetings in the jurisdiction of the prison.
According to the report, Imran Khan and his wife meet every Tuesday under applicable jail rules. The report states that the couple has held 84 meetings so far during his imprisonment.
Meanwhile, the jail superintendent also addressed proceedings related to a contempt of court case involving prison meetings. The report referred to an undertaking by Salman Akram Raja that media interactions would not take place inside the jail.
However, the jail administration alleged that the undertaking was violated despite court directions, according to Minute Mirror report published today.
It also cited an Islamabad High Court ruling in the Sher Afzal case, which declared Jail Rule 265 unlawful.
Furthermore, the administration alleged that statements made during prison meetings were used to influence public sentiment against state institutions.
Regarding Khanโs health, prison medical officers examine him three times daily and monitor his food and water intake.
Several government doctors have also examined him, while the jail administration maintains records of their medical assessments.
The report said Khan also received treatment from an eye specialist, after which one eye reportedly became almost normal.
Moreover, the jail attached summaries of 39 specialist medical examinations conducted between November 4, 2023, and August 10, 2026.
The superintendent requested the Supreme Court to dispose of the case based on the submitted information.
Meanwhile, a three-member Supreme Court bench led by Justice Shahid Waheed will hear the case on August 18.
