Police have arrested six men for allegedly carrying out illegal placer gold mining along the banks of the Indus River in Jand. During the operation, authorities also seized machinery that was reportedly being used to extract gold from the site.
The raid was conducted after police received reports about unauthorized mining activities in the area. Acting on the information, officers reached the location and launched an operation against those allegedly involved.
Raid Leads to Arrests and Machinery Seizure
According to police, the operation resulted in the arrest of six suspects. Officers also confiscated equipment and machinery allegedly used for extracting gold from the riverbank.
Authorities registered a case against all six accused. Following legal formalities, the suspects were sent to jail.

Police Identify the Suspects
Police identified the arrested men as Siffat Ullah from Kohat, Khalid Rehman from Waziristan, Muhammad Irfan from Mari Kanjoor, Adil from Pindigheb, Shafiq Ahmad from Jand, and Saquib Shahzad from Mohala Karbala, Attock.
Officials said all six individuals are facing legal proceedings in connection with the alleged illegal mining operation.

Meanwhile, investigators are examining the scale of the alleged mining network. Authorities are also trying to determine whether additional individuals were involved in the operation.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing, and further action will depend on the findings.
