The Islamabad Electric Supply Company has ended electricity load management across its service region. Consumers will now receive uninterrupted electricity as demand returns to normal. Moreover, officials confirmed that sufficient power remains available through the national grid.
IESCO said it continues monitoring electricity demand and supply to maintain a stable distribution network. The company also pledged reliable service through preventive maintenance and rapid restoration efforts.
IESCO Confirms Stable Power Supply
IESCO spokesperson Raja Asim said the region currently faces no electricity shortage. He added that the national grid is supplying the required electricity without interruption.
Furthermore, the company is strengthening system operations through continuous network monitoring. Officials said these measures will help ensure reliable electricity for consumers across the service area.
IESCO also promised prompt restoration whenever unexpected faults affect the distribution network. Consequently, consumers should experience fewer disruptions under normal operating conditions.
Heatwave Triggered Temporary Technical Outages
The spokesperson explained that an intense heatwave affected the power system between June 29 and July 5. As a result, electricity demand reached unusually high levels across the region.
According to IESCO, the heavy load damaged distribution transformers and burnt electrical jumpers. Additionally, underground power cable faults required emergency shutdowns for repair work.
Officials said several areas of Rawalpindi have multiple 11kV feeders sharing common poles and cable routes. Therefore, adjacent feeders were temporarily switched off to protect maintenance teams during repairs.
The spokesperson clarified that these shutdowns resulted from technical and safety requirements. He stressed they should not be mistaken for electricity load management. IESCO said normal power supply has now resumed throughout its distribution network.
