Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal has once again spoken out against online harassment, alleging that an individual has targeted her for the past three months.
Taking to Instagram, the actress shared the person’s profile and photograph while describing the alleged abuse as persistent. She also questioned whether women have effective avenues for protection when online harassment continues.
Momina Iqbal Shares Alleged Harassment
Momina said she does not personally know the individual she accused of contacting her. However, she alleged that he has repeatedly sent abusive messages and inappropriate material.
“Mujhe nahi pata ye banda kon hai, lekin pichlay 3 months se continuously galiyan aur bkwas bhej raha hai,” she stated.
The actress also criticised what she sees as a lack of seriousness around online harassment complaints. Moreover, she questioned where women can seek meaningful protection when such behaviour continues.
Momina said she has now decided to publicly document people she alleges target her online. She plans to create a dedicated folder on her social media account to highlight such individuals.
“Ab main sab ko fame dungi, aison ko fame hi chahiye,” she wrote.
She also directly responded to the alleged harasser over the abusive content he allegedly sent her.
Actress Questions Protection for Women
Momina’s latest post reflects wider concerns about cyber harassment faced by women on social media.
She suggested that repeated online abuse can continue when victims feel that existing mechanisms do not provide adequate protection. Therefore, her decision to speak publicly appears aimed at drawing attention to the issue.
The actress has previously raised similar concerns. Earlier this year, she accused PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar of online harassment, cyberbullying and threats.
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) later registered a case following her complaint. Chadhar has denied the allegations and obtained interim pre-arrest bail during the proceedings.
NCCIA Opens Fresh Inquiry
The earlier case has also seen significant developments in recent months.
In September, the NCCIA issued fresh notices to both Momina Iqbal and Saqib Chadhar after new digital evidence emerged. The agency formed a special investigation team to review the new material alongside records from the previous investigation.
The agency said the team would submit its findings to the NCCIA director general within one month. Officials also stressed that it would be premature to declare either party guilty or innocent before the fresh inquiry concludes.
Meanwhile, a Lahore court disposed of Chadhar and his wife’s pre-arrest bail petitions as withdrawn after investigators said arrests were not required at that stage. The investigation direction had changed following the presentation of new defence evidence.
Online Harassment Remains a Concern
Momina’s latest complaint comes as social media continues to expose women to unwanted messages, threats and abusive content.
Her decision to share the alleged harasser’s identity has once again brought attention to the difficulties victims face online. However, the allegations in her latest post have not been independently established.
For now, Momina continues to call for greater accountability and stronger protection against online abuse. Her ongoing case with the NCCIA also remains subject to the agency’s fresh investigation.
