A private hotel in Hunza has been sealed following allegations of drug use at a rooftop party featured in videos circulating online.
Content creator Jameed Ahmad, who operates the Instagram account “Hunzographer,” raised concerns over the gathering and called for an investigation by local authorities. However, the available information does not establish the official reason for the hotel’s sealing or independently confirm the allegations of drug use.
Influencer Calls for Investigation Into Hunza Party
Ahmad shared photographs showing a notice attached to the entrance of the hotel after raising concerns about the rooftop gathering. He subsequently urged Hunza’s assistant commissioner and deputy commissioner to investigate the matter.
According to Ahmad, his concerns were not directed at tourism or entertainment in general. Instead, he focused on activities that he believed could normalize drug use and negatively affect young people, local culture and the environment.
At the same time, Ahmad stressed that he did not oppose tourism, music, dancing or responsible entertainment in Hunza.
His comments came after videos from the rooftop gathering began circulating on social media. The footage prompted discussion about what took place during the event and whether the available material was sufficient to support claims of drug use.
Hotel Party Raises Questions After Earlier Inquiry
The controversy also followed an earlier interaction between Ahmad and the hotel’s customer service representative.
In a previous video, Ahmad contacted the hotel to ask whether a dance party could be arranged at the property. A representative reportedly declined the request.
Later, when Ahmad referred to footage of the rooftop gathering, the representative said they did not know about the event.
The exchange added another element to the controversy, particularly as questions emerged about how the gathering took place and what activities occurred during the party.
However, the available information does not independently establish what happened at the event beyond what can be seen or alleged in the circulating material.
Social Media Users Question Drug Use Claims
Ahmad’s posts generated mixed reactions from social media users. While some supported his call for scrutiny, others questioned whether the circulating videos actually demonstrated drug use.
Several users called for evidence before describing the gathering as a drug-related party. Their comments reflected concerns about making serious allegations without sufficient proof.
Consequently, the debate has extended beyond the hotel itself. It has also raised questions about how social media users interpret videos and how quickly allegations can spread online.
The distinction between visible activity and unverified claims remains important, particularly when allegations involve illegal drug use.
Privacy Concerns Also Emerge
Some users also criticized Ahmad for sharing footage without concealing the identities of people appearing in it. Critics alleged that the material had originally come from private Instagram stories.
Ahmad rejected that criticism, saying the footage came from a public profile and involved public figures. He also maintained that his criticism focused on respect for local values rather than targeting specific individuals.
The dispute has therefore developed around several issues, including the nature of the rooftop gathering, the allegations of drug use, privacy concerns and the responsibilities of people posting such material online.
For now, the available information does not independently verify the drug-use allegations. It also does not establish the official grounds behind the hotel being sealed.
The controversy continues to draw attention because it sits at the intersection of tourism, entertainment, social media and concerns about preserving local values in Hunza.
