MALAKAND: Hundreds of people took to the streets in Dargai tehsil of Malakand on Wednesday to protest against inflation, unemployment, prolonged loadshedding and deteriorating law and order.
The demonstration was organized by the Muttahida Trade Union and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), with a large number of residents participating in the protest.
Demonstrators expressed concern over rising living costs and the lack of employment opportunities. They also criticized persistent power outages and what they described as worsening security conditions in the area.
Protesters burned tyres during the demonstration to express their anger at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. They demanded immediate measures to improve public services and restore law and order across the province.
Participants also raised concerns about the availability of basic facilities in several sectors, particularly healthcare. According to the report, residents from Swabi and other parts of the province have complained about inadequate facilities at hospitals and shortcomings in other public services.
The protesters argued that authorities must take practical steps to address the problems facing ordinary citizens instead of allowing these issues to persist.
The demonstration reflects growing public concerns over inflation, unemployment, electricity shortages and public services in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The protesters called on the provincial government to respond to their demands and take concrete measures to improve living conditions and strengthen law and order.
