Speaking on Thursday, Huawei rotating chairman David Wang outlined the company’s roadmap for next-generation AI hardware. He said the new chips would support Huawei’s expanding portfolio of AI computing solutions.
Huawei Unveils Timeline for New AI Processors
According to Wang, Huawei plans to launch the 960DT chip during the first quarter of 2027. Later in the year, the company will introduce the Ascend 960PR in the third quarter.
The announcement reflects Huawei’s commitment to advancing AI technologies despite intense competition in the global semiconductor market. Moreover, the company aims to enhance the performance and efficiency of large-scale AI systems through its latest innovations.

Huawei believes UnifiedBus will become a key component of its next generation of high-performance AI computing systems. As a result, organizations will be able to deploy larger and more capable AI workloads across interconnected hardware platforms.
Wang also revealed that Huawei has already shipped more than 1,000 AI computing systems. These systems have been delivered to over 370 customers, demonstrating growing demand for the company’s AI solutions.
