ISLAMABAD: The Aabpara Police Station in Islamabad has received a major upgrade as authorities work to modernise police facilities across the federal capital. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the renovated station on Wednesday and reviewed its newly improved facilities.
During his visit, Naqvi inspected several sections of the police station. These included the Station House Officer’s office, Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC), inquiry office and waiting area.
He also reviewed citizen service counters and assessed the facilities available to visitors. The minister expressed satisfaction with the improvements.
Naqvi Reviews Citizen Facilities
Naqvi also met members of the Dispute Resolution Committee and praised their performance. He stressed that police stations should provide a respectful and accessible environment for citizens.
Speaking at the inauguration, the interior minister said the project aimed to introduce modern, dignified and people-friendly policing.
He directed police personnel to treat complainants politely and address their concerns without unnecessary delays.
“There should be no delay in the registration of an FIR,” the minister directed.
The minister also received a briefing on the station’s renovation and the improvements introduced as part of the project.
Islamabad Police Stations Set for Modernisation
The Aabpara upgrade forms part of broader efforts to develop Islamabad’s police stations according to modern standards. The initiative focuses on improving public-facing facilities while making police services more accessible.
Moreover, the emphasis on dispute resolution and dedicated citizen counters could help improve public interaction with police authorities.
Several senior police officials attended the inauguration. They included the Islamabad Inspector General of Police, Deputy Inspector General and Senior Superintendent of Police Operations.
The upgraded facility reflects efforts to create a more professional environment for both citizens and police personnel. Authorities are expected to continue similar improvements across other police stations in Islamabad.
