Pakistan secured a place in the Round of 16 at the FIVB U17 World Championship 2026 with a dominant win over Algeria. The national side completed a convincing 3-0 victory in its final Pool E match in Doha, Qatar. Pakistan controlled the contest from the opening set and maintained its momentum throughout.
The team won all three sets by identical scores of 25-17, 25-17 and 25-17. As a result, Pakistan finished the preliminary phase strongly and moved into the knockout stage.
Fahad Ali delivered an outstanding performance for Pakistan. He scored 20 points, including 16 through attacks, to lead his team. Captain Muhammad Irfan also contributed to the victory with his attacking and blocking efforts.
Pakistan dominated several key statistical areas during the match. It recorded 37 attack points compared with Algeria’s 27.
The team also held an 11-8 advantage in blocks and led 4-2 in service points. Furthermore, Pakistan forced Algeria into 23 errors while committing fewer errors.
Strong Start Against Chinese Taipei
The victory over Algeria marked Pakistan’s second win at the tournament. The team had earlier defeated Chinese Taipei in its opening Pool E match. Pakistan won that contest 25-20, 25-10 and 25-23. The result gave the team a confident start to its historic campaign.
Fahad again led Pakistan’s scoring with 13 points, all coming through attacks. Meanwhile, Irfan added 11 points through five attacks, three blocks and three service points.
Pakistan also held the statistical advantage in that match. It recorded 36 attack points against Chinese Taipei’s 29. The team further led in blocks and service points. Pakistan registered eight blocks and six service points, while Chinese Taipei managed seven blocks and none from service.
Pakistan Advances to Knockout Stage
After its opening victory, Pakistan faced Iran in its second pool match. The team suffered a 3-0 defeat but quickly recovered in its final preliminary match. The victory over Algeria secured Pakistan’s place in the pre-quarterfinals. The team will now face Egypt on Tuesday, August 25, at the same venue.
A victory against Egypt would send Pakistan into the quarterfinals. Therefore, the upcoming match represents another major opportunity for the young squad.
The tournament also carries historic significance for Pakistan. It marks the country’s first appearance at a world volleyball championship at any level.
