Two Pakistan-flagged oil tankers carrying Saudi crude oil successfully crossed the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait without incident, despite the ongoing Houthi blockade targeting Saudi-linked maritime traffic.
The safe passage has drawn attention because several Saudi-associated vessels have reportedly faced attacks or changed their routes since the blockade was announced.
The development also came only days after Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) warned that any attack on a Pakistan-flagged vessel would be considered a threat to the country’s security.
Pakistan-Flagged Tankers Complete Safe Transit
According to maritime intelligence company Windward, the two Aframax crude oil tankers departed from Saudi Arabia’s Yanbu port after loading crude oil.
They then sailed through the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb before continuing their journey back to Pakistan.
Throughout the voyage, both vessels kept their tracking systems switched on, allowing their movements to remain visible.
Their successful transit stands out because security concerns in the region have intensified in recent weeks.
