An 18-year-old student has alleged that he was gang-raped after being lured to a fake birthday celebration in Punjab’s Rahim Yar Khan district. Police have launched an investigation, arrested one suspect, and collected evidence from the crime scene.
The incident has shocked the local community and raised fresh concerns about crimes involving deception and violence against young people.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the student was invited to what he believed was a birthday gathering. However, police said the invitation allegedly served as a trap.
The victim told investigators that he was taken to a residential building, where he was allegedly drugged before the assault.
Victim Alleges He Was Drugged Before the Assault
According to the FIR, three to four individuals allegedly took turns sexually assaulting the student after he lost consciousness. The victim further alleged that the suspects later abandoned him in a severely injured condition near a bypass road.
A passer-by noticed the unconscious student and immediately alerted Rescue 1122. Consequently, emergency responders shifted him to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Police confirmed that the victim underwent a medical examination as part of the investigation.
Police Register Case and Collect Evidence
Police registered a case at the City C Division Police Station following the victim’s complaint. Investigators also collected evidence from the alleged crime scene to support the inquiry.
Authorities stated that the investigation remains underway and that further legal action will depend on the available evidence.
Meanwhile, police arrested one of the accused named in the FIR, identified as Hammad Akram, son of Akram Masih and a resident of Habib Colony.
However, the three other individuals named in the case secured pre-arrest bail from the court.
Victim’s Father Alleges Attempt to Kill His Son
The victim’s father claimed that those involved also attempted to kill his son after the alleged assault.
He further alleged that the room where the incident took place was covered in blood, describing the scene as deeply disturbing.
Police have not publicly confirmed these additional claims. However, investigators said they are examining all available evidence while continuing the inquiry.
Investigation Continues
Police said the investigation remains active and that all legal procedures are being followed.
Officials added that forensic evidence, medical findings, witness statements, and other material will help determine the next course of action.
The case remains under investigation, and authorities have not announced any further arrests beyond the one suspect already taken into custody.
