Police have added murder charges to an existing sexual assault case in Lahore, after an 18-year-old housemaid died following a medical procedure. The incident has drawn significant attention as investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding her death.
According to police, the young woman worked as a domestic employee and had accused two men of repeatedly sexually assaulting her over several months. Based on her written complaint and recorded statement, authorities initially registered a case in Lahore’s Model Town area and launched an investigation.
Police Expand Investigation Following Victimโs Death
Investigators stated that the victim claimed she became pregnant in late 2025 and informed her family about the situation. She further alleged that the abuse continued during that period. Later, she underwent a medical procedure at a private clinic in Raiwind.
However, her health reportedly deteriorated afterwards, prompting her transfer to Services Hospital in Lahore. Hospital authorities subsequently notified the police, who began gathering additional evidence and statements related to the case.
Police officials revealed that before her death, the victim altered parts of her earlier statement and named only one suspect. Investigators believe external pressure may have influenced the change. As a result, authorities are examining all available evidence to determine the facts.
Post-Mortem Report Key to Ongoing Inquiry
The woman remained under treatment for two days before she died at the hospital. Consequently, police incorporated murder charges into the First Information Report (FIR) against the accused individuals.
Officials said the upcoming post-mortem report will play a crucial role in determining the exact cause of death. Furthermore, the findings may help investigators establish additional facts and identify any further legal violations connected to the case.
Authorities have confirmed that the Lahore sexual assault investigation remains ongoing.
