The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan has opened nominations for the Best University Teacher Award 2026. The initiative aims to recognize outstanding faculty members across the country.
The award will honor teachers who have demonstrated excellence in teaching, innovation, student learning, and academic development.
HEC has invited public and private higher education institutions to nominate deserving faculty members. Universities must submit nominations by October 7, 2026.
Universities Asked to Submit Nominations
Each eligible university can nominate one faculty member through its university-level committee. The nomination must follow the approved HEC award framework.
Institutions must send complete nomination documents to the office of the Director General (Academics), HEC Islamabad. They must submit all required materials before the deadline.
Public and private sector universities recognized in Pakistan can participate. Faculty members must have a strong record of teaching and academic contributions.
HEC Outlines Eligibility and Documentation Requirements
Universities must prepare a complete nomination dossier for the selected candidate. The package should follow the guidelines outlined in the HEC framework.
In addition, institutions must provide minutes of the committee meeting that approved the nomination. Applicants must also submit a soft copy of all required documents.
The university-level committee will review candidates and select one nominee. Afterward, the institution will finalize the documentation process.
HEC stated that the award recognizes exceptional contributions to higher education. The initiative also promotes teaching excellence and academic innovation nationwide.
