Dr. Tipu Sultan, a renowned medical director at Children’s Hospital in Lahore, has brought attention to the concerning surge in psychological issues and irritability among children. He believes that the growing adoption of mobile phones among youngsters is a significant contributing factor to this development.

He pointed out that when children misbehave, parents often give them mobile phones as a solution, rather than seeking a more effective approach. He also mentioned that children between the ages of three and five are more prone to encountering psychological issues.

The medical director elaborated on how children’s health and well-being have been impacted by their preference for eating outside instead of consuming home-prepared meals. He also mentioned that increased screen time has made children more vulnerable to anxiety and psychological issues.

Dr. Sultan proposed solutions for these problems by suggesting parents motivate their kids to interact with elderly individuals and engage in physical exercises. He emphasized the need to prevent overwhelming children with academic stress and supported the creation of parks and playgrounds within school and residential community premises.

Dr. Sultan emphasized the importance of parents focusing on their children’s well-being by encouraging healthier habits, such as reducing screen time, facilitating physical activities, and enhancing social interactions.

Considering these aspects, he proposes that the occurrence of psychological issues in children can be reduced, consequently resulting in more joyful and wholesome childhood experiences.
