The President has appointed Haroon Akhtar as Adviser to the Prime Minister with the status of Federal Minister.
The appointment takes effect immediately under clause (1) of Article 93 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
The Cabinet Division issued a notification confirming the appointment and assigning Haroon Akhtar the portfolio of Industries and Production.
Haroon Akhtar Takes Charge of Industries and Production
Following his appointment, Haroon Akhtar will serve as Adviser to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production.
The new role carries the status of Federal Minister, according to the notification issued by the Cabinet Division.
The appointment places him in charge of the Industries and Production portfolio as part of his new responsibilities.
Previous Role Comes to an End
With his appointment as Adviser to the Prime Minister, Haroon Akhtar will cease to serve as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister.
The Cabinet Division said earlier notifications issued on February 27 and March 7, 2025, stand superseded to this extent.
Therefore, his new appointment formally replaces his previous position as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister.
The latest notification establishes Haroon Akhtar’s new role and confirms his immediate responsibility for the Industries and Production portfolio.
