Pakistanโs Hajj 2027 government scheme is nearing its allocated capacity, with only 18,500 seats remaining under the long package.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has urged intending pilgrims to complete their applications and payment formalities without delay.
The 40-day Hajj package will close once the allocated quota reaches capacity.
More Than 88,000 Pilgrims Pay First Instalment
According to figures from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, 88,700 pilgrims have deposited their first Hajj instalment.
Punjab has recorded the highest number of payments, with 46,400 pilgrims completing the first instalment. Sindh follows with 23,500 pilgrims, while 11,300 pilgrims from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have also deposited their dues.
Meanwhile, 3,933 pilgrims from Islamabad have completed the payment process. Balochistan accounts for 2,555 pilgrims, while 677 pilgrims from Gilgit-Baltistan have deposited their instalments.
A further 362 pilgrims from Azad Jammu and Kashmir have also completed the first payment. The figures reflect growing interest in the government scheme as preparations for Hajj 2027 continue.
Hajj Management System Brings Process Online
The government has introduced the Hajj Management System to streamline the application process. The digital platform brings applications, document verification, payments and application tracking together.
As a result, intending pilgrims can manage several stages of the process through one system. The digital approach also aims to reduce paperwork and limit unnecessary visits to banks.
Furthermore, the system is designed to make the Hajj application process more transparent and convenient.
Digital Hajj Payments Cross Rs55 Billion
The digital Hajj system has also recorded more than Rs55 billion in first-instalment payments. Around 40% of pilgrims chose online payment options through 1LINK and card-based channels.
Balochistan recorded the highest proportion of digital payments among the provinces and regions. Around 72% of pilgrims from the province used online payment facilities.
The ministry has allowed intending pilgrims to pay through PSID, cards or bank challans. These payment options are available through the Pak Hajj App and Hajj Portal.
Hajj 2027 Dues to Be Paid in Two Instalments
The government previously announced that Hajj 2027 dues would be collected in two equal instalments. Pilgrims must pay the first instalment when submitting their applications.
Therefore, applicants planning to join the government scheme should complete their payment requirements promptly. The ministry has particularly advised pilgrims interested in the 40-day package not to delay their applications.
Once the allocated quota is filled, applications for the long Hajj package will no longer be accepted. With only 18,500 seats remaining, the government scheme is moving closer to its capacity.
