Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced plans to introduce passport services at the 24/7 NADRA Mega Center in Gujranwala. The move aims to make essential document services more accessible to citizens.
Naqvi made the announcement during a visit to the NADRA Mega Center. He reviewed the facilities available for citizens seeking identity cards and other documents.
The minister also interacted with visitors during the visit. He asked citizens about their experiences and the services they were receiving at the center.
Citizens Express Satisfaction With Services
Several citizens expressed satisfaction with the services available at the center. They said they received their turns quickly and faced limited waiting times.
During his visit, Naqvi inspected different service counters and the information desk. He also directed staff to provide visitors with complete guidance and relevant information.
The minister stressed the importance of ensuring a smooth experience for citizens. Therefore, he instructed officials to address issues that could create unnecessary difficulties.
Naqvi also took immediate notice of complaints raised by some visitors. He ordered the concerned officials to resolve those complaints.
Focus on Faster Public Services
The interior minister praised NADRA Mega Center staff for managing the rush effectively. He also emphasised that citizens should receive services without unnecessary delays.
In addition, Naqvi stressed that people should not have to visit the center repeatedly for the same task. He called for better coordination and guidance to help citizens complete their requirements in fewer visits.
The planned introduction of passport services will add another important facility to the Gujranwala center. Consequently, citizens will have access to passport-related services alongside existing NADRA facilities.
The announcement comes as authorities continue efforts to expand and streamline public-facing document services. For citizens, the availability of passport services at a 24/7 center could offer greater flexibility when completing essential documentation.
The government has not provided a specific date for the start of passport services at the Gujranwala Mega Center. However, the facility is expected to begin offering the service soon.
