Gujranwala police have registered a forgery case against PML-N MPA Qaiser Iqbal Sindhu, Farhat Shahzadi, also known as Farah Gogi, her husband Ahsan Jameel and other suspects.
Sadar police registered the case on the complaint of enforcement inspector Tayyabur Rehman. Police said they have started legal proceedings and will investigate the allegations against all nominated suspects.
According to the complaint, Magnolia Housing Society allegedly collected building plan fees illegally and altered government records. The complaint further alleges that MPA Qaiser Iqbal Sindhu supported the activities.
Police have named Sindhu, Farhat Shahzadi, Ahsan Jameel and other individuals in the case. Authorities will now investigate the allegations and determine whether the suspects committed any offences.
Police Investigate Housing Society Allegations
The case centres on alleged irregularities involving Magnolia Housing Society. Investigators will examine the society’s records, financial transactions and relevant government documents as they proceed with the inquiry.
Meanwhile, the latest case follows an earlier dispute involving Farah Gogi and industrial plots in Faisalabad. Authorities previously took action over alleged violations of development requirements.
Earlier Dispute Involved Faisalabad Plots
In July last year, the Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC) board cancelled two plots reportedly owned by Gogi. The plots, numbered 255 and 256, each covered five acres and were reportedly purchased in October 2021 under the name Al-Moeez Dairies.
The company said the plots had no structures despite applicable development requirements. Then FIEDMC chairman Rana Azhar Waqar said authorities would enforce the rules against owners who failed to develop their plots.
The latest Gujranwala case remains under investigation. Police said they will take further legal action based on the findings and evidence collected during the inquiry.
