Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb discussed Pakistanโs economic outlook and investment opportunities with senior Deutsche Bank officials.
During a meeting with Jamal Al Kishi, Regional CEO for Middle East and Africa, Aurangzeb highlighted progress on economic reforms. Ali Haider Zaidi, Country Manager Pakistan, also attended the meeting.
The finance minister said the government was working to build a sustainable, export-led growth model through structural reforms.
Pakistan Highlights Economic Progress
Aurangzeb pointed to improvements in Pakistanโs fiscal position, external account and overall macroeconomic stability.
He also highlighted positive assessments from international rating agencies and development partners.
Al Kishi congratulated Aurangzeb and his team on the progress achieved over the past two years.
He particularly praised improvements in fiscal consolidation, the balance of payments, exports and remittances.
According to Al Kishi, these developments have created a stronger foundation for sustainable economic growth.
Pakistan Seeks Diversified External Financing
Aurangzeb also outlined Pakistanโs medium-term strategy for managing and diversifying its external debt.
He said Pakistan aims to strengthen its engagement with international capital markets and financial institutions. The minister stressed the importance of expanding access to diversified external financing sources.
He also highlighted opportunities for international and regional investors across several productive sectors.
These include infrastructure, energy, oil and gas, utilities, mining and minerals, technology and blockchain.
Aurangzeb particularly emphasized opportunities for Saudi-based companies seeking to invest in Pakistan.
He said the government wants to increase private-sector participation and facilitate Saudi multinational companies entering the Pakistani market.
Deutsche Bank Signals Greater Engagement
Al Kishi reaffirmed Deutsche Bankโs long-term commitment to Pakistan during the meeting.
He expressed interest in expanding the bankโs corporate and investment banking services and coverage in the country. He also highlighted opportunities to strengthen business ties between Pakistan and companies across the Middle East and North Africa.
Saudi companies, in particular, could explore investment and financing opportunities across Pakistanโs key economic sectors.
Aurangzeb welcomed Deutsche Bankโs continued engagement and emphasized the importance of sustained cooperation. The government aims to work with international financial institutions and private-sector partners to mobilize investment.
Such cooperation could also help deepen Pakistanโs financial markets and support sustainable long-term economic growth.
