ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani government has established a dedicated Media Facilitation Centre at the Jinnah Convention Centre to support journalists covering the high-stakes Islamabad Talks between Iran and the United States.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar announced the development on X, saying all necessary arrangements are now in place to take care of both foreign and local journalists.
Best Facilities Ready for Journalists
The new centre aims to make reporting smooth for hundreds of international correspondents who have arrived in Islamabad. It offers workspaces, high-speed internet, interview rooms, and real-time access to official updates from the talks. Moreover, the government has arranged transport and security support to help journalists move around easily.
Transitioning from preparations to execution, Tarar emphasised that the authorities want to look after the media delegation well. “All arrangements in place to facilitate foreign and local journalists in the best way possible,” he posted. He added, “We will be looking after them well.”
Pakistan Showcases Hospitality During Crucial Talks
This step reflects Pakistan’s desire to host the sensitive Iran-US negotiations successfully. The Islamabad Talks have drawn global attention as both sides work toward turning the fragile ceasefire into a lasting peace agreement.
Furthermore, officials believe providing strong media support will help deliver accurate and timely information to the world. Local journalists will also benefit from the centre, allowing them to report developments from a central and well-equipped location.
The government has mobilised staff from the Information Ministry and Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation to run the facility round the clock. With diplomats from both Iran and the US already engaged in discussions, the Media Facilitation Centre is expected to play a key role in keeping the world informed about every important update from the peace process.
