According to the latest rates issued by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-karat gold per tola increased by Rs11,300. Consequently, the new rate settled at Rs449,236 per tola.
The significant rise also reflected stronger international bullion prices, which moved higher during the trading session.
Gold Prices Register Sharp Increase
The surge was not limited to per-tola rates. The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also climbed substantially.
According to the updated rates, 10 grams of 24-karat gold increased by Rs9,688, reaching Rs385,147.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 22-karat gold rose by Rs8,881. As a result, it settled at Rs353,064 in the local market.
The latest jump highlights continued volatility in precious metal prices, with both domestic and international markets moving upward together.
International Gold Market Moves Higher
Gold prices also strengthened in global markets on Thursday.
The international price of gold increased by US$113 per ounce, taking the bullion rate to US$4,268 per ounce.
The rise in global prices contributed to the sharp increase witnessed in Pakistan’s domestic gold market, where international trends often influence local bullion rates.
Silver Prices Also Edge Higher
Meanwhile, silver prices also recorded gains in both local and international markets.
In Pakistan, the price of silver per tola increased by Rs35, bringing the new rate to Rs6,659.
Likewise, the price of 10 grams of silver rose by Rs30, settling at Rs5,709.
Internationally, silver prices also moved upward. The metal gained US$0.35 per ounce, taking the global price to US$61.80 per ounce.
Precious Metals Continue Upward Trend
The latest increase reflects a broader upward trend in precious metal prices. Gold and silver both posted gains in domestic and international markets during the latest trading session.
With gold reaching Rs449,236 per tola, buyers and investors will continue monitoring global bullion movements for further price direction in the coming days. The domestic market remains closely linked to international price trends, making global developments a key factor in future movements.
