Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has claimed that several party lawmakers are being made to go missing despite PTI having a government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Speaking at a news conference, Gohar said there were no internal differences within PTI. He said party members were uniting for the ongoing sit-in and political struggle.
“Our MNAs and MPAs have been made to go missing,” Gohar said, while urging them to reconsider their actions.
Gohar Calls for Political Dialogue
The PTI chairman thanked Jamaat-e-Islami and Awami National Party for speaking against what he described as illegal actions.
He said he would soon meet ANP leader Aimal Wali Khan. Gohar also stressed that PTI remained open to negotiations.
According to Gohar, the federal government still had an opportunity to arrange a meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan. He said such a meeting could help move stalled negotiations forward.
Gohar blamed the government’s lack of flexibility for the deadlock. He also rejected suggestions that KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi was responsible for the breakdown in talks.
PTI Says Sit-In Will Continue
Gohar said PTI was committed to addressing terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However, he accused the federal government of failing to play an effective role in countering terrorism in the province.
He also claimed that the Rs10 billion announced by the government had not provided any financial support to the province so far.
Gohar said PTI had convened an All Parties Conference where 22 parties issued a joint declaration. He maintained that terrorism should not be linked to PTI’s political demands during negotiations.
The PTI chairman confirmed that the party’s sit-in would continue. He said the protest had started from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and would eventually move towards Islamabad.
