ISLAMABAD: Police have arrested the main suspect in the murder of a woman and launched raids to apprehend his alleged accomplices, officials confirmed. Authorities said the investigation is progressing as they gather evidence and pursue all individuals involved in the case.
Following the postmortem examination, officials handed the victimโs body over to her family for burial. Meanwhile, police registered a murder case on the complaint of the victimโs mother against the prime suspect and other alleged accomplices.
District Police Officer (DPO) Irfan Ali Samo took immediate notice of the incident and ordered swift legal action. Subsequently, police formed investigation teams to trace and arrest everyone linked to the case.
According to a police spokesperson, teams led by the DSP Sadar Circle and the SHO of Abadpur Police Station arrested the main accused, identified as Muhammad Anas. However, police said raids are continuing to capture the remaining suspects.
Furthermore, officials stated that investigators are conducting the inquiry on merit and with complete transparency. They added that police are using all available evidence to determine the facts surrounding the incident.
The spokesperson said investigators are thoroughly examining every aspect of the case before completing the inquiry. Therefore, authorities will proceed with legal action based on the findings of the investigation and the available evidence.
Police also reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring a fair and impartial investigation. Officials said the inquiry will remain focused on establishing the facts and holding every individual involved accountable under the law.
Meanwhile, DPO Irfan Ali Samo directed the investigation team to expedite the probe and ensure that no suspect escapes justice. He instructed officers to complete the investigation without unnecessary delays and present a strong case before the relevant court.
Authorities maintained that efforts to arrest the remaining accused are continuing. Police said they remain determined to bring all those responsible to justice in accordance with the law.
