Chinese automaker Geely Auto has officially entered Pakistan through a partnership with Bestway Group. The company appointed Bestway as the exclusive importer and distributor of its Geely Galaxy brand. It plans to launch two battery-electric vehicles during the third quarter of 2026.
Geely to Launch EX5 SUV and EX2 Hatchback
Geely will introduce the Galaxy EX5 compact electric SUV and the Galaxy EX2 compact electric hatchback. Initially, the company will import both models as Completely Built-Up (CBU) units. The EX5 targets families and SUV buyers seeking electric mobility.
Meanwhile, the EX2 is designed for urban commuters and first-time electric vehicle owners. Both models aim to expand consumer choice in Pakistan’s growing EV market. However, Geely has yet to announce local pricing.
Under the agreement, Bestway Group will oversee vehicle homologation and dealership development. Additionally, the company will manage sales, after-sales services, and customer support. The partnership provides Geely with an established automotive network across Pakistan.
Partnership Strengthens Geely’s Market Entry
Bestway recently strengthened its automotive presence through the acquisition of Al-Haj Automotive. Consequently, Geely can enter the Pakistani market using existing infrastructure and distribution channels. This strategy may help accelerate the brand’s nationwide expansion.
Industry observers believe Geely’s long-term success will depend on several factors. Competitive pricing, spare parts availability, and reliable after-sales services will remain essential. Furthermore, a strong dealership network could play a crucial role in attracting buyers.
The arrival of the Galaxy EX5 and EX2 is expected to intensify competition in Pakistan’s electric vehicle market. As a result, consumers may benefit from greater choice in the electric SUV and urban hatchback segments.
