Actor Zahid Ahmed celebrated a major career milestone after receiving the Pride of Performance award. He marked the achievement with family, friends and fellow members of Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
Ahmed shared moments from a congratulatory dinner on Instagram. He also expressed gratitude to everyone who supported him throughout his acting journey.
“Receiving the Pride of Performance is an honour I carry with immense gratitude — for every character, every lesson, and every person who has been part of this journey,” Ahmed wrote.
The actor also used the occasion to recognise veteran writer Anwar Maqsood. He described Maqsood as a longtime role model who influenced his decision to pursue acting.

Ahmed said Maqsood played an important role in shaping his career. He also revealed that he had hoped his role model would present him with the prestigious award.
“I can be amongst many of those who can say I started acting because of Anwar Maqsood sahib. That is where my career started,” he said in a video.
“At this monumental day in my life and career, it was my wish that once the award is put on me, I get it from him,” he added.
His tribute highlighted the lasting influence of senior artists on his professional journey. It also reflected the personal significance the award holds for Ahmed.
Celebrities Join Ahmed’s Celebration
Several well-known personalities from Pakistan’s entertainment industry attended Ahmed’s celebration. The gathering included Humayun Saeed, Ejaz Aslam, Ali Rehman, Aamina Sheikh and Sonya Hussyn.
Hajra Yamin, Ahmed Ali Butt, Sunita Marshall, Hassan Ahmed and Mehwish Hayat also joined the celebration.
Hayat praised Ahmed’s achievement and highlighted his contribution to acting.
“Such a great honour and so well deserved because he’s such a phenomenal actor. I love his work and I’m glad that it’s been recognised by the state,” Hayat said.
Ali Rehman also recalled working with Ahmed during their theatre years. He said he recognised Ahmed’s talent early in his career.
“I had the privilege of actually coming up with Zahid when we did theatre. That’s when I saw his work and it was so serene. I’ve just been a fan,” he said.
Pride of Performance Recognises Ahmed’s Career
The annual civil awards list includes more than 372 recipients. Authorities announced the list ahead of Pakistan Day celebrations scheduled for March 23 next year.
The awards recognise contributions across multiple fields. The arts category includes 54 recipients, while 29 individuals received recognition for their contributions to literature.
Actors Mahmood Aslam, Sania Saeed and Maria Wasti are also among those recognised.
For Ahmed, the award represents an important achievement after years of memorable performances. His celebration also highlighted the friends, family members and artists who supported his journey.
By paying tribute to Anwar Maqsood, Ahmed further acknowledged the inspiration that helped shape his decision to enter acting. The milestone therefore celebrates both his professional success and the people who influenced his career.
