Pakistan’s biggest Artificial Intelligence training initiative has successfully graduated 6,000 students from 100 universities across the country. The participants earned their place after being selected from more than 82,000 applicants through a nationwide proctored examination.
The program marks a significant step in expanding AI education. Moreover, it supports the country’s efforts to prepare students for future technology-driven careers.
The graduation ceremony took place during Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja’s visit to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) headquarters.
Nationwide AI Training Delivered Through Smart Classroom Network
The initiative was implemented by AI SkillBridge under the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
It used the HEC Smart Classroom Network to deliver AI training simultaneously across Pakistan. As a result, students from universities nationwide received the same learning experience through a single coordinated platform.
Officials described the initiative as the first nationwide use of the Smart Classroom Network for Artificial Intelligence training.
Program Supports National AI Policy 2025
Officials said the initiative aligns with the National AI Policy 2025.
Furthermore, they described it as the first practical step toward the prime minister’s vision of training one million students in Artificial Intelligence by 2030.
The program aims to equip university students with practical AI skills. Consequently, graduates will be better prepared to contribute to Pakistan’s growing digital economy.
Students Present AI Projects at Graduation Ceremony
During the graduation ceremony, participants showcased AI-powered applications, websites, and AI agents developed throughout the training program.
The projects demonstrated the practical knowledge students gained during the course. In addition, they highlighted the growing interest in Artificial Intelligence among Pakistani university students.
Federal Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja appreciated the students’ work. She also encouraged participants to continue developing innovative AI solutions that can support Pakistan’s digital transformation.
Top Performers to Receive Advanced AI Scholarships
The ACT AI program was organized by AI SkillBridge in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC), the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP), and the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC).
Graduates received certificates jointly endorsed by all four organizations.
Additionally, the top 600 performers will receive scholarships for advanced Artificial Intelligence training.
Officials said the initiative represents another important step toward developing a skilled AI workforce capable of supporting Pakistan’s future technological and economic growth.
