At least five terrorists were killed during a successful intelligence-based operation in Panjgur, security sources said Thursday.
The operation took place in the Killi Suran area of Panjgur as part of Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3.
According to security sources, the operation targeted members of the Indian terror proxy Fitna Al Hindustan.
Several other terrorists were also injured during the operation, the sources said.
The operation was launched after intelligence indicated that the terrorists were preparing to carry out a major attack.
Security forces targeted the group while its members were travelling on motorcycles.
The forces used advanced technology and weapons during the operation, according to security sources.
Terrorists Were Allegedly Planning Major Attack
Security sources said the militants were travelling on motorcycles while preparing for a major terrorist attack.
Security forces acted against the group after receiving intelligence about their alleged activities.
The operation resulted in the deaths of five terrorists, while several others reportedly sustained injuries.
The successful action formed part of the ongoing Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3.
Security forces also recovered a significant quantity of weapons and ammunition following the operation.
The recovered items included three vehicles, two motorcycles and an improvised explosive device.
A flag belonging to the proscribed organisation was also recovered during the operation.
Weapons and Explosives Recovered
The recovery of weapons and ammunition followed the operation in Killi Suran.
Security sources said the forces recovered modern weapons and other material from the targeted terrorists.
The recovered items included an IED, which could have posed a serious threat if used in an attack.
Authorities also recovered three vehicles and two motorcycles reportedly linked to the militants.
A flag of the proscribed organisation was among the other items recovered during the operation.
The recovery adds to the security forces’ account of the group’s alleged preparations for terrorist activity.
Terrorists Allegedly Involved in Multiple Crimes
According to security sources, the slain terrorists were allegedly involved in several criminal and militant activities.
These activities reportedly included looting local residents and demanding extortion payments.
The sources also accused the group of involvement in kidnappings for ransom and targeted killings.
They further alleged that the militants were planning suicide attacks.
The operation therefore targeted individuals whom security sources linked to a range of violent activities in the area.
However, these allegations remain part of the account provided by security sources.
Security Forces Vow to Continue Operations
Security forces reiterated their determination to eliminate terrorism from Balochistan following the Panjgur operation. The sources said counterterrorism operations would continue against militant groups operating in the province.
They added that security forces would maintain their efforts until the last terrorist is eliminated.
The Panjgur operation comes as part of the continuing Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3.
Meanwhile, the recovery of weapons, ammunition and an IED has highlighted the security concerns surrounding militant activity in the area.
Security forces said they would continue using intelligence-based operations to target terrorist networks and prevent planned attacks.
