Flight RX-676 arrived from Riyadh, marking an important step in Pakistan-Saudi aviation connectivity. The aircraft received a ceremonial water salute upon arrival.
Saudi Arabia hosts more than two million Pakistani citizens. Therefore, the new route could meet strong demand from workers, families, businesses, and pilgrims.
New Route Strengthens Pakistan-Saudi Connectivity
Riyadh Air plans to operate three weekly flights between Riyadh and Lahore. The service will provide an additional direct connection between both cities.
A ceremony also took place at Lahore airportโs International Departure Lounge. Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki attended the event.
The new service could strengthen travel and economic links between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Both countries maintain close economic relations and strong people-to-people ties.
Riyadh Air Expands International Operations
Riyadh Air is wholly owned by Saudi Arabiaโs Public Investment Fund. The airline aims to connect Riyadh with more than 100 destinations by 2030.
The carrier launched its Pakistan operations with another inaugural flight. Flight RX-660 arrived in Islamabad from Riyadh on August 14.
Saudi Vision 2030 aims to establish Riyadh as a major international aviation hub. Riyadh Airโs expanding network supports these broader national ambitions.
Meanwhile, Pakistan remains one of Saudi Arabiaโs major aviation markets. Air travel between both countries continues to support workers, businesses, families, and religious pilgrims.
The Pakistan Airports Authority welcomed Riyadh Airโs entry into the Pakistani market. It also expressed optimism about the airlineโs successful expansion across the country.
