Travelers to Receive Digital Clearance
Under the proposed system, passengers will be able to submit relevant information through the app. The FIA will review their documents and provide guidance if any issue or inquiry requires attention.
Travelers who complete the required checks and are cleared will receive a QR code through the application.
The QR code will allow immigration officials to access the passenger’s information through the immigration system when the traveler arrives at the airport.
The system is expected to reduce paperwork and simplify several procedures currently handled during airport immigration.
FIA to Use System for Risk Profiling
The e-immigration platform will also help the FIA collect passenger information and conduct risk profiling as part of the immigration process.
Passengers facing documentation or eligibility concerns will receive relevant information through the application. This could allow them to resolve issues before arriving at the airport.
