The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has promoted 25 assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs) to sub-inspector rank, recognising their professional performance and service. The promotions follow directives from FIA Director General Dr. Usman Anwar, as the agency continues efforts to facilitate eligible personnel.
The latest decisions cover officers from several regional zones and specialised units. Meanwhile, the department has scheduled another promotion board meeting for November 10 to consider further cases.
FIA Promotions Cover Multiple Zones
According to an FIA spokesperson, the latest promotions include officers from different parts of the country, with Balochistan receiving the largest share.
The distribution of the 25 promotions is as follows:
- Balochistan Zone: 10 officers
- Karachi Zone: 5 officers
- Islamabad Zone: 3 officers
- Gilgit-Baltistan Zone: 3 officers
- Counter-Terrorism Wing (CTW): 2 officers
- Faisalabad Zone: 1 officer
- Peshawar Zone: 1 officer
These promotions bring together personnel from regional offices and the agency’s Counter-Terrorism Wing. Consequently, the decision recognises officers serving across various operational areas.
Next FIA Promotion Board Meeting on November 10
The FIA spokesperson said the agency was taking special measures to ensure eligible employees receive timely promotions. In line with this approach, the departmental Promotion Board will meet again on November 10.
The upcoming meeting will consider additional promotion cases, although the agency has not announced how many officers may benefit.
Regular promotion reviews can also provide eligible personnel with greater clarity about career progression and departmental advancement.
FIA Urges Promoted Officers to Prioritise Public Service
The agency described the promotions as recognition of officers’ hard work, integrity and professional performance. However, it also stressed that advancement comes with greater responsibility and expectations.
The spokesperson urged the newly promoted sub-inspectors to place public service at the centre of their duties. Officers were also asked to perform their responsibilities with greater diligence and effectiveness.
Furthermore, the FIA directed personnel to strengthen efforts against organised crime through effective and result-oriented measures.
The latest promotions mark another step in the agency’s personnel advancement process. Meanwhile, the November 10 board meeting is expected to provide the next opportunity to review eligible officers for promotion.
