The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has established two committees to oversee a large-scale recruitment process across different government pay grades. The move aims to organise recruitment cases and review appointments for positions ranging from Grade 1 to Grade 16.
Under the new arrangement, one committee will handle recruitment cases for Grade 11 to Grade 16 positions. Meanwhile, a separate committee will review cases involving appointments from Grade 1 to Grade 10.
The development comes as the FBR prepares administrative arrangements for new inductions. However, the announcement does not specify the total number of vacancies or provide a recruitment schedule.
FBR Forms Separate Committees for Different Pay Grades
The FBR has assigned recruitment responsibilities according to the positions’ respective pay scales. This division will allow designated officials to review cases within their assigned categories.
For Grade 11 to Grade 16 recruitment, Chief Management and Secretary Management will examine the relevant cases. Their responsibilities will cover the recruitment process for positions within these grades.
In addition, Secretary Administration and Second Secretary Management will review recruitment cases for Grade 1 to Grade 10 positions. This arrangement separates the review process for lower and higher pay scales.
Departmental Selection Committees Approved
Alongside the two committees, the FBR has approved the formation of departmental selection committees to carry out inductions. These committees will play a role in the recruitment process under the approved arrangements.
The department has also introduced a requirement concerning female representation on selection committees. Each committee must include at least one female member.
This requirement makes female participation a mandatory part of the committee structure. Consequently, departments must ensure that their selection committees meet the specified composition requirements.
Establishment Division to Nominate Female Members if Needed
The FBR has also outlined a procedure for situations where a suitable female officer is unavailable. In such cases, the Establishment Division will nominate a female member to join the relevant committee.
This provision aims to ensure that the required female representation does not prevent committees from being constituted. It also establishes a clear mechanism for addressing any shortage of suitable female officers.
For prospective applicants, the latest development concerns the administrative arrangements for recruitment rather than a confirmed vacancy announcement. Candidates should wait for official advertisements to learn about available positions, eligibility criteria, application procedures and deadlines.
