Lahore police have arrested a man accused of exploiting a 22-year-old woman while posing as a faith healer.
The suspect allegedly visited the woman’s home for two years under the guise of providing spiritual healing. Police said he used the treatment as a pretext to manipulate and assault the woman.
Authorities traced and arrested the suspect from Ghaziabad, according to a police spokesperson. The accused has been identified as Shakeel.
Suspect Allegedly Used Spiritual Healing as a Pretext
According to police, the suspect regularly visited the victim’s house while claiming to perform spiritual remedies.
During those visits, he allegedly manipulated and assaulted the 22-year-old woman. Police said the alleged exploitation continued for approximately two years.
The suspect reportedly presented the visits as part of spiritual treatment. However, authorities allege that he used the arrangement to exploit the victim.
Police Say Other Household Members Were Also Targeted
Authorities also alleged that the suspect attempted to manipulate other members of the household.
Following his arrest, police registered a formal case against Shakeel. The investigation has subsequently been transferred to the Gender Cell.
The case remains under investigation as authorities examine the allegations against the suspect.
Police have accused the man of using the guise of spiritual healing to gain access to the household. The allegations involve the reported exploitation of the woman over an extended period.
