Pakistani actor and host Faizan Sheikh has spoken out against the growing culture of online trolling and cyberbullying. He urged social media users to reconsider turning personal attacks into entertainment.
Faizan shared a graphic on Instagram calling for an end to online harassment. Alongside it, he posted a strongly worded message about the impact of repeated digital abuse.
The actor used sarcasm to describe trolling as a new form of national entertainment. However, his message quickly shifted toward the serious consequences of online hostility.
Faizan Sheikh Takes Aim at Online Trolling
Faizan began his message by highlighting how easily people become targets on social media. He pointed out that public figures can face criticism regardless of their experience, status or achievements.
“Paish-e-khidmat hai, humara naya National Sport, Trolling,” he wrote.
He then listed different groups that frequently become targets of online comments. His message highlighted how people can face ridicule over everything from their careers to their appearance.
“Newcomer ko bhi TROLL kardo… seasoned actor ko bhi troll kardo… national hero ko bhi troll kardo… kapray troll kardo… shaklain troll kardo… bas TROLL kardo!” he added.
The sarcastic tone, however, gave way to a direct warning about the consequences of such behaviour.
‘Trolling Isn’t Clever Banter’
Faizan stressed that online mockery should not automatically be treated as harmless humour. He argued that repeated attacks can have serious consequences for people facing them.
“Trolling isn’t clever banter, it’s cruelty disguising as humor. Behind every handle is a real person and constant online toxicity takes a very real toll on mental health,” Faizan wrote.
He also pointed to anxiety, isolation and self-doubt as possible consequences of prolonged online hostility. Therefore, he encouraged social media users to consider the person receiving their comments before posting hurtful messages.
Actor Urges Social Media Users to Choose Empathy
Faizan further argued that posting hurtful comments requires little effort. In contrast, he said users should think about the human impact of their words before pressing the send button.
“It takes zero effort to tear someone down for a brief dopamine hit. It takes character to choose empathy instead. Before you hit send, remember that your words land on human hearts,” he continued.
His message ultimately focused on empathy rather than simply criticising social media behaviour. Faizan urged users to remember that people behind online profiles can still be affected by repeated criticism.
Faizan Ends Message With a Simple Appeal
The actor concluded his post with a brief but firm message directed at those participating in online harassment.
“Stop It.”
His remarks come amid recent online controversies and criticism involving Pakistani showbiz personalities. However, Faizan’s latest message focused broadly on the culture of online trolling rather than a specific individual.
For now, his post has added another public voice to the conversation surrounding social media behaviour. Meanwhile, Faizan has encouraged followers to think about the consequences of their words before turning criticism into personal attacks.
