Punjab has opened registration for its October online auction of premium vehicle registration numbers, giving citizens a chance to bid digitally.
The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Punjab Excise Department are jointly facilitating the auction through an online platform.
Citizens can bid for customised registration numbers for motorcycles, motor cars and commercial vehicles through the e-Auction portal.
Registration for the auction will remain open until October 31, allowing interested applicants to participate online.
What Numbers Can Citizens Bid For?
The e-Auction platform covers registration numbers for three major vehicle categories. These include motorcycles, motor cars and commercial vehicles.
Users can participate in the bidding process through the digital platform without visiting government offices. The system also provides information about successful bidders through the application.
Therefore, participants can access auction-related details through the same digital system.
How Does Punjab’s E-Auction Work?
The online platform allows citizens to take part in the premium number auction digitally. Users can complete the registration process through the e-Auction app or web portal.
They can then participate in bidding for their preferred vehicle registration numbers. Moreover, the platform provides details about successful bidders after the auction.
This feature supports greater transparency throughout the digital bidding process.
PITB Highlights Benefits of Digital Auction
PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf said the platform uses modern digital technology for vehicle number auctions. He said the system provides a seamless, secure and transparent way for citizens to bid for preferred numbers.
Yousaf also highlighted the wider benefits of shifting the auction process online. He said digitisation improves efficiency and speeds up service delivery.
Additionally, it strengthens transparency while making the process more convenient for citizens.
No Physical Visit Required
The e-Auction app and web portal allow applicants to complete the registration process online. As a result, citizens do not need to make physical visits to participate in the auction.
The digital setup is designed to make the process easier and more accessible. It also supports the government’s efforts to shift more public services towards online platforms.
Punjab Pushes Digital Public Services
The premium number plate auction forms part of Punjab’s broader digital transformation efforts. The provincial government aims to modernise public services through technology-driven solutions.
According to Yousaf, the initiative reflects Punjab’s commitment to expanding digital public services. He said such solutions can improve the overall citizen experience.
The initiative also focuses on accessibility, transparency and operational efficiency across government services.
With registration open until October 31, interested citizens can use the e-Auction platform to participate in the premium number bidding process.
